Director of LetteronDemand to visit Tirana, Albania
Joke van der Ven, Director of LetteronDemand, has received an invitation to give a guest lecture at the European University of Tirana in Albania. The lecture is part of the Dutch Public Diplomacy Programme, the goal of which is to change the way the Netherlands is perceived in Albania. Under the project title, ‘Dutch Exceptionality - How the Dutch relate to the world’, the programme is divided into four main themes:
• Politics and Law
• Business and Economy
• Culture and Gender
• Human Rights
Joke van der Ven’s lecture will focus on the second theme, Business and Economy. The Dean of the University, Prof. Dr. Adrian Civi, will also speak. All the lectures will be broadcast on Albanian television. Other Dutch speakers include Prof. Bas de Gaay Fortman, Frans Timmermans, former State Secretary of Foreign Affairs and in charge of European Cooperation and Henk van den Dool, the Dutch Consul in Albania.
